A digital content distribution channel that serves millions, and a titan of PC gaming. They got their start with their licensing store and publishing games, and have since branched out to innovative controller hardware, game streaming hardware, of course my Steam Deck, and other hardware (like VR) and software (like Proton) components that kind of blend with parent company Valve.
Steam earns my dollar by making licensing games affordable and creating longevity in my gaming library compared to generational consoles that do not have backwards compatibility. Their ease of use, innovation in the space, promotion of open source, and seemingly corporate philosophy are impressive.
