Beryl AX MT3000
GL.iNet travel router that is about as capable as a normal home router, but portable and with OpenWRT. Used in tandem with the Glinet App on my phone for networking.
2026 update
Beryl is used as an extender for my new Flint 3 GL-BE9300, but I still take it on travel.

Use Cases
This router can serve multiple purposes:
Travel Router: Hook it up to hotel internet, then connect all your devices on a local, encrypted network. You can connect as many devices as you want, and usually get access to the faster wired connection. This feature lets you bring streaming devices, and all your devices connect immediately once in range, bypassing the captive portal since the router has already authenticated.
Home Network: Can serve as a wireless or wired access point, or as a dedicated router and firewall before a network switch.
Portable Security: Provides a secure, encrypted network layer between your devices and untrusted networks.
